Grandma and Papa come to Oregon

 Mom and Dad flew over for a quick visit. It was sunny for a day when they arrived and then nothing but rain. But we all had a blast.  The 4 wheeler ran rain or shine and of course Dad  is squishing Cash on the 4 wheeler.

 We also took everybody to the wax museum and Ripleys. Dad and the boys sang My Girl Karaoke Style in front of the American Idol wax judges.  Kyler was a stud on the piano.

 Mom was brave and came with me on a 5 hour fishing trip. The goal was to catch a lingcod for Perry- goal met. And we did pretty good with 2 rockfish and mom brought up a small sea bass. There were 17 fishermen total on the boat. Mom and I were part of the few that didnt puke. The boat was really rocking. I loved it. The rain was coming down so hard at times if felt like we were being sprayed in the face with a hose, sometimes it was hard to see. Mom needed windshield wipers for her glasses. Mom was busy keeping her eyes on the horizon. You can see a couple of the pukers behind mom.

 Somebody on the boat caught a 16lb lingcod. Mine was 5lbs. Love it! They have these blue tinted mouths with huge teeth.

Fall Camping Trip

For Our Camping trip we started out on a big loop. We camped the first night at clear lake (outside of Sisters) above and below. 

 Then we stopped at the Lava River Cave outside of Bend. Awesome The boys were so excited. Kyler kept asking about when we would see the "dead bats." The ranger outside of the cave had a bunch of photo's of bats with white nose disease (this caves bats are safe they are just trying to prevent it). However Kyler was excited and he wanted to take a "bat wing home" Um no.. The cave was super easy to walk through. Large ceilings smallest area brushed the top of perrys head, and most of it was very flat from everyone walking through it, and wide. It looked almost man made. The boys growled like bears through most of it and want to go back to the "bat cave." We saw no bats. phew.

 After the lava cave we started to drive the Cascade Lake loop and stopped at Elk lake to camp. Lots of crawdads to catch and rocks to throw. No luck with the fish.

 And then on the way back we tortured the boys with some photo shoots. This is Crescent Lake.

 We also did a detour to go Bike riding on our favorite bike path outside of Cottage Grove. Cash and the boys posing on one of the bridges.

 Had a hard time making Dylan hold still for a group shot. So we stuck him back in the bike seat.

 Playing at the horse unloading docks at the bike ride. He kept poking his head over the rail and roaring at us. And then you have the monkey side of Dylan.

I also decided to go a little crazy and fit in some apple canning this last week. I am so pleased with how they turned out. Besides this group I did 7 more apple filling jars. For a first timer it went great. Kyler was the best helper. He likes to push the apples in the top of the applesauce maker. And he would hand me apples to run through the peeler. Good Job Kyler!
